About Me
Dr. Sawicky was born in Chicago, but his family relocated to Southern California when he was a teenager. There, he fell in love with, and later married, his high school sweetheart, Liz. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at California State University, Fullerton. After receiving his D.D.S. from the University of Detroit, Dr. Sawicky joined the Air Force and was stationed in Tacoma, Washington, where he owned a highly successful practice for many years. In 1993, Dr. Sawicky received his Mastership from the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics. ICCMO is the largest worldwide organization providing continuing education and accreditation for dentists treating temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ).
As a General Dentist, Dr. Sawicky provides a variety of dental procedures, such as fillings and crown & bridge work. However, he also performs almost all of his own extractions and a great deal of periodontal procedures, including bone grafting when appropriate. His wide scope of skills comes from his many years of experience and considerable amounts of training in the various dental specialties. Oftentimes, this enables him to diagnose quickly and effectively for even the most complex dental situations, and also minimizes the need for outside referrals.
Dr. Sawicky also keeps a close watch on his younger patients for developing orthodontic problems. This allows for recommending growth and development modification (removable appliances like retainers), to help correct growth discrepancies and simplify future orthodontic treatment. Denture construction and removable partial design and fabrication are other aspects of dentistry he considers among his strengths.
After enduring many years of dark, damp, and dreary nine month winters in Washington, Dr. Sawicky and his wife are pleased to reside in Arizona. The Sawickys count among their blessings two adult children and three grandchildren.
